Adding a roof rack to your Sierra is a great way to increase your cargo area, especially if you're loaded down with passengers and you have additional cargo in the back of your bed. In my time here, speaking with neighbors, I've been here a long time and Rhino Rack is one of the brands I recommend because they're really easy to install. It just takes a little bit of measuring and then you can fasten it all down. All the tools are included. Another great reason to have a ladder rack, I mean a roof rack system is if you have a ladder rack, it increases the length of items you can carry. more

A roof rack system is gonna allow you to get more cargo on the road with you when you're loaded down with passengers. It lets you take advantage of a feature that you have, in this particular case, raised rails, to get those bigger, bulkier items on top of your vehicle. Also, it allows you to have fun if you're gonna add a bike carrier or a kayak carrier, things like that. So let's take a little bit closer look at the Malone AirFlow2 to see how it works with the GMC Acadia. A roof rack system is gonna help solve the issue of having a lot of additional cargo but limited space on the inside of the vehicle. So if you're fully loaded with passengers and you have your cargo area full, this is gonna allow you to get those bigger, bulkier items out on the road along with you. A roof rack system is a great way to not only move cargo but to have a great time out in the world. You can add kayak carriers, bike carriers, cargo boxes, platforms, just about anything that is compatible with a roof rack system. As far as your weight capacity, you wanna definitely check your owner's manual to see what that rating is, what the rating is on the bars and the rating on the feet, and whatever the lowest rating is, is what you're gonna be limited to as far as your cargo. more

Yakima CoreBar Crossbars Roof Rack Installation - 2021 Gmc Acadia- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Yakima CoreBar system with the TimberLine Towers on our 2021 GMC Acadia. Now as far as adding a roof rack system to your vehicle, that's gonna help solve the problem of having additional space for your cargo and still loading up your vehicle with passengers. Having a roof rack also helps you with getting out there and having fun 'cause it can also support kayak carriers, bike carriers, as well as cargo boxes, as your weight capacity on the CoreBar system is at 220 pounds. However, you're definitely gonna want to consult with your manufacturer's instructions to see what the maximum capacity of the roof is. The best benefit of not having a fixed mounting point system and taking advantage of your raised rails is the fact that you can adjust your spread for whatever accessory you're using, like some of the items I listed, or maybe a tent. The bars themselves are 50 inches long, about three inches wide, two and three quarters and an inch tall. more

Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars Installation - 2022 GMC Terrain- Video
Hey everybody, Cooper here at "etrailer." Today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack System on our 2022 GMC Terrain. Now, why would you need a roof rack system Well, if you wanna carry around some of those bigger or awkward items like skis, maybe snowboards, or you need some additional storage for those longer trips like a roof box. The first thing you're going to need is a roof rack system like the one we have installed here today. Now we do have raised rails here on our terrain and usually the big benefit to that is that our clamps can sit anywhere with on those rails, allowing us full customizability for our crossbar spread able to accommodate different items that might have different spreads. What we did learn when installing this system here today though, is that where our rails do make contact here with our roof, that this space is unusable even right here, because of how the clamp needs to hold this added on even a little space here prevented it from clamping down fully. So we are losing about a front third of our rail and if we head to the back, we have that same issue back here with the front back third of our rail. more

Hey everybody, Cooper here from etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at our Rhino Rack Roof Rack system on our 2022 GMC Terrain. Now this kit is going to come in two pieces, the first one being our Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars, and the second one being our SX Series Legs that are going to attach to our vehicle and hold those crossbars into place. Now if you're gonna wanna carry around some of those bigger items like kayaks, skis, maybe snowboards, your first thing you're going to need is a roof rack like we have here today. Or, if your car's filled with people and you need some additional storage, having a roof-mounted storage box would be a perfect opportunity for something like this. We are weight rated to hold up to 165 pounds on our roof rack, but do just keep in mind that our rails and the roof are going to have their own separate weight ratings, and you always wanna make sure you go by the lowest component, that way you're not overloading any of those down. more

Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack Installation - 2023 GMC Yukon XL- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Thule Wingbar Evo roof rack system on our 2023 GMC Yukon XL. This kit is really nice, because it works with the flush rails on our Yukon here. Just holds on to these lips on the rails by the clamps on the feet of the system. If you're looking to transport some larger items, like maybe some ski and snowboard carriers, maybe some roof boxes, baskets, or up to kayaks, and you want a way to get those to where you need them to go, a roof rack system like this is a really good option. The crossbars themselves are 60 inches a piece, technically capable of supporting up to 220 pounds, but the feet that we're using today are actually only able to support 165 pounds. more

Yakima JetStream Crossbars Installation - 2022 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima Roof Rack System with our JetStream crossbars and showing you how to install them on our 2022 GMC Sierra. If you're transporting a large amount of items or just large items in general and you don't have room in your bed, or they're just items you'd rather keep out of the cabin of your vehicle, a roof rack system like this is gonna be a good way to do that. The crossbars that we have here are an aerodynamic shape so they taper in the back just to cut down on some of that wind noise and wind resistance. With any sort of roof rack system, you'll get a little bit, but this is nice that it cuts some of that down. Additionally, it does feature this rubberized strip inside this T-track slot, so you can use these roof rack with T-track accessories and there's no need to trim the actual strip to get those on. more

How's it going everyone, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack System on our 2022 GMC Sierra. The roof rack system is nice in the case that you want to store some of your bigger accessories, say a roof box, roof basket, kayaks, things like that that you might not want to store in your bed or might not fit. These bars are constructed of aluminum so they are lightweight but they are still capable of supporting up to 165 pounds. Crossbars have an arrow shape so they taper in the front and the back, which helps with wind resistance and just keeps things streamlined compared to say, your round crossbars. Additionally, we've found that if you have roof rack accessories, clamps tend to work a little bit better on these than the round ones as well. more

Malone AirFlow2 Universal Roof Rack Installation - 2022 GMC Acadia- Video
Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Malone Roof Rack here on our 2022 GMC Acadia. The AirFlow2 Roof Rack use what are known as aero shaped crossbars. And aero shaped crossbars are the best type of crossbars on the market. What they do is, they do a great job of really cutting into that wind. So, number one, you're not producing a bunch of wind noise and number two, you're not creating as much drag therefore affecting your miles per gallon as much. The system is offered in two different crossbar lengths, 58 inches which is what you see here and 50 inches, they're both gonna work great on this vehicle. more

Malone AirFlow2 Universal Roof Rack Installation - 2020 GMC Terrain- Video
Adam: Hi, everyone, Adam with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Malone AirFlow2 roof rack on our 2020 GMC Terrain. So currently, we do have the 50-inch bars up on our roof right now, but we could also fit a 58-inch bar as well if we wanted to maybe get a little bit more bar length for some of those T-track accessories that we can put on here, definitely go there on our website and just make sure and pick the one that you think is going to be right for you. So as of right now, with the 50-inch bars and the 58, they're both going to be made out of aluminum, so they're going to naturally just resist against that rust and corrosion over time, but as you can tell the shape of these things, so it kind of looks like a plane wing.So as the air travels over it, it's going to just eliminate some of that drag that you get whenever you're going down the highway at high speeds and also some of that wind noise that you get. One thing that you can kind of notice is the T-track and the way it's set up, the rubber is just kind of just in there to help just with that wind noise, of course. But on that side, I'm going to venture on over there, there is a cap on the foot. more

This is a roof rack that you're going to be able to load up some of your favorite accessories, whether it's a cargo box for a long family trip, kayak carrier, maybe even a couple of bike racks.It's going to mount to the fixed mounting points on the flush side rails of your Yukon. And it's really secure, you can see shaking it around, the entire Yukon is moving. You really do have a great peace of mind getting your accessories loaded up here. And what's actually pretty cool about the Yukon is that with the fixed mounting points more times than not with other vehicles, you just have a set point where you put your front crossbar and your back crossbar. more

Thule SquareBar Crossbars Installation - 2016 GMC Sierra 2500- Video
Hey guys. Today we have a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500. We're going to do a test fit of the Thule square bar crossbar roof rack system. Now this roof rack system is going to allow you to get any accessories like a bike rack, a kayak carrier, or even a roof basket up on your roof so you can get those accessories on your roof rather than taking up space inside the bed of your truck or even in the cab.Now this roof rack system is made up of a couple of different components. Up top we're going to have our 60 inch square bar crossbars. Now what's different about these crossbars from their old square bars is that rather than having a foot pack that wraps around the top of our square bar to secure it to our roof, we actually do have a channel, just like their aero bars, where we can just slide or Evo clamp feet through there, so it's also going to work, these clamp feet are going to work with our wing bars as well.The square bars are going to be a little bit more noisy up on our roof, as with anything that's going to be mounted to your roof, but sometimes just having that more rugged look, it's going to be a nicer to look for your truck.Now below, kind of the middleman is going to be our Evo clamp feet. more

The foot packs is part number RRSX100, and you can get crossbars in black with part number RRVA118B-2 or in silver with part number RRVA118S-2. This roof rack system's going to allow you to take cargo and place it on top of your roof so you can free up space inside of it for more passengers or just overall be able to carry more cargo in your vehicle. You can also use it for recreational uses, throw your bikes and kayaks up here. Normal things that wouldn't fit inside your vehicle you can now carry and bring with you. SeaSucker Roof Rack Review - 2017 GMC Acadia- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 GMC Acadia, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the SeaSucker Monkey Bars roof rack system, part number 298-SX6000.The SeaSucker Monkey Bars are gonna allow you to carry roof mounted accessories on your GMC Acadia. Things like bike racks, cargo boxes, kayak carriers, and much more. They're unique in that they can be removed very easily when you're done using them. The round bars are held in place by six vacuum cups. Each vacuum cup has a 210 pound pull strength, so you can rest assured that your accessories are gonna be safe on the roof.Unlike other roof rack systems that use a clamp or a strap style, these will allow maximum adjustability.Now we'll give you some measurements. This is gonna give you an idea of how high they sit up from the roof of your GMC Acadia. more

Inno Roof Rack Review - 2017 GMC Terrain- Video
Speaker 1: Today, in our 2017 GMC Terrain, we're going to be test-fitting the Inno Aero 00:00:00 roof rack system, consisting of part numbers INXB115-2. These are the Inno Aero Crossbars, aluminum, 45 inches long, as well as part number INXS150. The end caps are lockable, and they do come with the roof rack system. Yakima Roof Rack Installation - 2017 GMC Terrain- Video

We'll also be using part number Y00147, and these are the TimberLine Towers for the Yakima Crossbars, particularly for the factory raised side rails.The JetStream Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof, while freeing up space inside your GMC Terrain. This can carry anything from bike racks, to cargo baskets, to cargo boxes.The JetStream bars have an aerodynamic shape to them, and the coupled with the rubber strip at the top, and the one we cut to length underneath, that'll help cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive, which will reduce the need for having a fairing that you would have, say, for round or square bars because those can produce quite a bit of noise.Removing the end cap, you can see where that rubber strip is, and this is actually able to have T-Track accessories installed in it. But unlike the other racks out there, instead of having to remove the rubber strip and cut it to length. This simply pushes down when you insert your T-Track accessory through there, therefore eliminating the need to cut the strip at any point.The end caps are removable, very easily, and have a plastic piece here which you can take out and replace with a Yakima Same Key System Lock Core. Now they are sold separately, however they're sold separately so you can buy several at once and make them keyed alike with the accessories that you're hauling. more

What I really like about this Malone Roof Rack System is that it's an entry level system that comes with almost all the bells and whistles. It has integrated locking included with metal locks, and they're all keyed alike, and it comes with two keys.Additionally, it has a nice high weight rating, and it's one of the quickest and easiest to install. You just set it up in place over your side rails, and tighten it down with the included tool. This is gonna be a great way to get cargo out of your vehicle and up on your roof, allowing for more passengers in the vehicle. more

It simply wraps around your factory side rails and gets tied down with this bolt here, and on the end of the end caps, we do have this knock out that you can replace with the Yakima same key system, which is sold separately, so not only can you secure it to your factory side rails, you can make it keyed alike with your accessories as well. While these round bars are nice and sturdy, they are going to make noise while you drive. This roof rack system's going to allow you to carry roof mounted bike racks, cargo boxes, baskets, and much more. Compared to round or square bars, the teardrop shape is going to allow you to control air flow to significantly decrease wind noise and vibration.The CoreBars are made out of a heavy-duty steel construction, which enables them to carry more weight than traditional roof rack systems. That's up to 220 pounds, so you'll want to be sure and check with your GMC's owners manual to see if your roof can support that much.The CoreBars are attacked to the TimberLine Towers, which allow them to be attached to your raised rails. This also comes in black as part number Y00447-0448.The Yakima RailBar Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while maintaining that factory look to it once they're installed. Can carry anything from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes. It has an aerodynamic shape to the bar and that coupled with this rubber strip up at the tip, that's going to cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive. However, a disadvantage would be that because it's cut off at certain points on either side, that is the only amount of space you're going to have to install your accessories. Otherwise, you need to get a bar that goes past, so you'd have to pretty much upgrade to a different style of roof rack system.Removing our end cap here, as opposed to other roof rack systems where you would actually have to remove the rubber strip to install T-Track accessories, with this, all you have to do is push down the strip and push the T-Track accessories in, not having to make any alterations to the rubber strip itself. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 GMC Acadia, we're going to be test fitting the Rhino Rack Vortex StealthBar Roof Rack System, part number JA7973.The Rhino Rack Vortex StealthBar Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your vehicle. It also maintains that factory look with how it's installed.The bars have an elliptical shape to them, and that coupled with the Vortex Aero Strip up at the top is going to cut that wind noise and drag while you drive. Now, a downside to this is the bars don't go past the factory raised side rail, so you are limited to how many accessories you can put on the top here. Removing the end cap here, you do see that you can use T-track accessories with this roof rack system by just taking out the strip, sliding your accessories in and then cutting the strip to length and replacing it around them.Notice these openings on the side here. That's for the lock cores that come with the kit as well. We left them out for demonstration purposes, as it's more of a permanent install.How this attaches to your factory raised side rails, we have these rubber-coated steel strips here that wrap around it and then get tightened down with this bolt here. more

Also, if we open up the end cap here, you can see that this is compatible with T-track accessories and instead of having to cut the strip, you simply push it down and push your T-track accessories in place.With the two bars you're going to have a carrying capacity of 165 pounds but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand those weights. With the AirFlow2 you'll have two styles of locking end caps with one will have just simply a locking end cap. more
